Community Engagement

Dedicated to Service

Community Engagement at Brockport First Baptist is about connecting our church members with concrete opportunities to love and serve our neighbors in the wider community. From one-time events to ongoing ministries of service, special offerings and so much more, this is a look at just some of what we do.

If you are looking for an opportunity to serve or if you need assistance, please contact the church.

Get Involved

The Gathering Table

Third Sunday of each month
12pm-1pm

A free meal for anyone in the community! Join us for a delicious meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  Each month offers a different entrée with sides and dessert. Tables are set for our guests to come eat, relax and enjoy the company of others. Some months, we even have live music!

Looking to serve? We can always use help bussing tables and serving the food.

Emergency Pantry

Open Sunday mornings and during regular office hours

Our emergency pantry provides support to supplement other (larger) food banks in the area. Guests are permitted to take one bag of food per household – no questions asked. There are no income or residency requirements.

The emergency pantry is supplied entirely through donations. Grab an extra bag of groceries next time you’re at the store and drop it off Sunday morning!

Brockport Warming Center

Open overnight and all day Sunday during the winter months

Our church is proud to host the Brockport Warming Center, in partnership with Oak Orchard Health. The Warming Center opens anytime the temperature drops below 32 degrees. Guests must be adults who live in Monroe County.

Donations of single-serving snacks and drinks for our guests are welcomed!

Activism & Advocacy

Being part of our church brings plenty of opportunities for activism and advocacy. From attending protests and marches, letter writing campaigns, our quarterly “Just Desserts” events, and hosting the local chapter of Indivisible – we are all about connecting faith with action on behalf of “the least of these” (Matthew 25).

Special Offerings and Collections

Our Community Engagement Team organizes a special offering of some sort every month. We collect backpacks and Angel Tree gifts for students in the Brockport Central School District, and contribute financially to a variety of other non-profits and worth causes in Brockport and beyond.
