Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
— Matthew 19:14 (NIV)

At Brockport First Baptist, we take the safety of children with utmost seriousness. Church should always be a place where families can trust that their children will encounter the love of God in a safe environment, surrounded by well-trained volunteers who have been equipped to serve the kids who have been entrusted into their care. It is with these goals in mind that our church developed our Child Protection Policy—providing peace of mind to families, education to our volunteers, and above all else, protecting our children from abuse, neglect, and other misconduct.

All of our staff and volunteers who work with minors undergo a thorough criminal background check, as well as periodic trainings in best practices for children’s ministry. No one serves alongside any minors until they have been part of our church for at least six months. All staff and volunteers are required to read and abide by the church’s Child Protection Policy linked below and new volunteers are required to submit a detailed application (which includes references and an interview with church leaders) before they can work with children.

Our Child Protection Policy is embedded below and can be downloaded using the following links:

If you are a new children’s ministry volunteer looking to complete the application process, please read the Child Protection Policy in its entirety and submit your volunteer application to the church office: brockportfirstbaptist@gmail.com. Our office will follow up with you to conduct your background check and schedule an interview.
